"Grace means that all of your mistakes now serve a purpose instead of serving shame."

Specialties and Training

I am a graduate from New York University's  Silver School of Social Work and hold a school social work certificate as former school social worker in NJ's public school system. I am currently licensed in NJ, CT, and NY pending. My experience and knowledge in special education has allowed me to support parents in requesting special education services, providing psycho-education to the youth I serve in understanding their accommodations and modifications, along with advocating for supports and what to expect in the process.

Additionally, I have post masters training in EMDR and continue to dedicate ongoing advanced training in EMDR and trauma informed care to provide a person centered approach utilizing best practices. EMDR is a somatic, evidence based practice created by Francine Shapiro. This somatic modality improves self-regulation skills, provides symptom reduction, and allows the nervous system to reprocess and consolidate memories through the adaptive information process.

As a neurodiverse affirming, trauma informed therapist, I utilize the adaptive information processing framework of EMDR with each person I have the privilege of sitting with. I lean into learning about my clients nervous system and ways I can support honoring their self wisdom through a strengths based, collaborative, partnership to support embodiment, adaptive insight, and self agency. As I'm listening to you, I'm holding in mind the questions, 'where did you learn this'? and 'what happened?' Through this lens, it helps us orient to understanding symptoms as breadcrumbs to unhealed wounds with connected negative core beliefs. The AIP model further upholds the knowledge that our system has the innate capacity to heal when given support, just like a broken bone. Through this empowering approach we can begin to understand where we learned these negative beliefs, and what we'd like to believe that is true and helpful as we unlearn mistaken truths and reclaim our authentic self.
